
The heavy nuclear-powered missile cruiser Admiral Nakhimov has successfully completed the first stage of its factory sea trials, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation announced on Sunday (15).
According to the ministry, the initial trials were conducted at sea and allowed for the evaluation of the main propulsion plant’s performance, as well as various ship systems and mechanisms. After completing this stage, the vessel returned to the regular pier of the Sevmash production facility, where it is undergoing a comprehensive modernization and repair program.

“The heavy nuclear missile cruiser Admiral Nakhimov, currently undergoing modernization at the Sevmash shipbuilding association, successfully completed the first stage of sea trials and returned to the shipyard. During the initial phase, the operation of the main power plant and various onboard systems was verified,” the Ministry of Defense reported.
The statement added that the trials, carried out jointly by Sevmash’s delivery team and the ship’s crew, will continue according to the established schedule, with new stages already planned.
